..now you're singing the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air theme song to yourself aren't you? It's fine, everyone does it.
But that's not why we're here.
Once upon a time, in a land not very far away, I scraped through my A-Levels with a couple of average grades, and didn't have the slightest clue what I wanted to do with my life. I got into an apprenticeship in furniture restoration and cabinet making, and that went swimmingly for about five years until my boss retired. At that point I decided what I really wanted to do with my life was travel and drink, so I spent a bit of time doing that and it was great. But then reality struck, and I realised I'd have to get some money in the bank at some point. So I took the first job I could get my hands on, working for a sign making company, and it took me almost twelve years to realise I really really hated it. Like seriously, it was a pretty low point. Then one day I realised I actually really missed woodwork, so I formulated a plan: I'd get a job in the industry somewhere, set up a little workshop and make some stuff in my free time, and generally be much less depressed.
And that's what's happening. Thanks to my current boss for giving me a job as a machinist, and my best friend for lending me some money to buy tools, I'm now firmly entrenched in the wood game again. So I figured I might write about it, if you're interested. And even if you're not.
I imagine I'll stick up some photos, drawings, stories and other such nonsense occasionally. Stay tuned.
